Teaching Math with Technology: National Library of Virtual Manipulatives

National Library of Virtual Manipulatives
The National Library of Virtual Minipulatives is a great resource for teaching math for all grade levels. The website is broken up into content area and grade level. They have manipulatives for number and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and data analysis/probability for grades k-12.
Instead of showing students how to use a manipulative on a projector, I plan on using virtual manipulatives. Students will use a physical manipulative while I show them how to use it with the virtual manipulative. I would also like to use this resource during centers. Elementary students often get off task and sometimes abuse manipulatives (by throwing them, hitting each other, etc.) Having the students use the virtual manipulatives during centers will help them stay on task.
